Hi there, you gorgeous human being! I’m over-the-moon thrilled that you decided to click read on this little weird first blog post. This is where I’ll get to sprinkle my voice, unwanted recommendations, trivia stories and unapologetic love for love. Let’s dive right in, shall we?
Who Am I? Glad You Asked! My name is Ana, and I’m a dreamer—like, big dreams with glittery, impossible edges. I dream in black and white but live in all the colours of the rainbow. And here’s the thing: I made my dreams come true. After studying for many years up to my PHD in Communication Sociology and teaching at Uni, I traded all that status and stability up for happiness. That's true!
Now I’m a wedding photographer, and if I could be anything in the world (astronaut, dog whisperer, professional cheese taster), I would still pick this. Why? Because there’s nothing better than capturing those gooey, heart-melting moments of people in love, or the crazy belly-pain-inducing laughter of the people who truly are themselves. It’s like bottling magic—only better because you get to keep it forever!
I’m a believer in joy, connection, and all the deliciously weird parts of life. Want to know what makes me tick? Here’s a snapshot: I believe people are inherently good (even the ones who cut in line—I’m looking at you!), pizza is basically edible happiness, dogs are the best species to ever wag their tails on Earth and dancing solves all problems. Need proof? Try my "shuffle-spin-twist" combo. Works every time.
If you want to make me happy it’s easy, there are some things that light me up like a Christmas tree such devouring books like they’re going out of style (and yes, I sometimes cry thinking about the fact I won’t have time in my life to read all of the books I would want to), or crushing my opponents in strategic board games - or losing graciously… like a foul mouthed sailor...
And I’m obsessed with weddings. Seriously! I love people. I love kisses and hugs. I love laughter and tears and every raw, messy emotion that makes life worth living. And when I’m not snapping away at magical moments of couples and families, you’ll find me traveling the world at conferences preaching for mental health (but always running home to my husband—whom I married FIVE times already—and our cutest dogs).
Finally, if we ever grow out of topics to discuss, we can talk (in about 5 languages) about the fact that I’ve never eaten a McDonald’s burger - and nope, I don’t plan to ever -, I have a growing repertoire of weird dance moves that might make you cringe (but hey, they’re mine), and I can’t get enough of random trivia. Also, I still ask people what their favourite dinosaur is because one should never grow to be too old to ask the important questions.
